2025 Alterations and Electrical Distribution
About this course
Master two of the most misunderstood parts of California's Title 24, Part 6: Alterations and Repairs (§141.0) and Electrical Power Distribution Systems (§130.5). Misreading these sections causes a large share of incorrectly drawn designs, failed plan reviews, and costly change orders on nonresidential projects.
This 8-hour, in-person continuing education course combines lecture with hands-on plan review, so you leave knowing how to spot the triggers and apply the requirements:
- §141.0 — Additions, Alterations & Repairs to existing nonresidential buildings: entire-luminaire alterations, luminaire component modifications, and lighting wiring alterations — their triggers and requirements, the three calculation methods for determining what applies to a project, and outdoor alterations.
- §130.5 — Electrical Power Distribution Systems: service electrical metering, separation of electrical circuits for energy monitoring, voltage drop, and circuit controls for 120-volt and controlled receptacles.
What to bring: pen or pencil, highlighters (a few colors help), sticky notes, a notepad, a calculator — and a good attitude.
Taught live by NLCAA, a CEC-approved ATTCP. Counts toward your continuing education with 8 CE hours.
